Fall Festival Q&A

Here are the Fall Festival updates you've been waiting for!

WHEN IS THE FESTIVAL?
Friday, October 27, during the school day.
10am - 12pm: kindergarten, 1st, & 2nd grades
12pm - 1pm: pre-k
1 pm - 3pm: 3rd, 4th, & 5th grades
Our 3rd graders will visit the Activity Trail from 1-1:40; the Trunk-or-Treat from 1:40-2:20; and the Dance Zone from 2:20-3.

HOW CAN I VOLUNTEER ON THE FESTIVAL DAY?
There are two sign-up sheets! One is for the third grade Trunk-or-Treat booth and the other is for general volunteering at the festival.

HOW CAN I HELP SET-UP BEFORE THE FESTIVAL?
Set-up will take place the afternoon before the festival, Thursday, October 26, starting at 4:15 p.m. Set-up will take the place of the scheduled PTA meeting.

HOW MUCH DOES THE EVENT COST AND HOW CAN I PAY?
Cost is $7 per student, which will include Kona Ice, and may be paid using a credit card on Givebacks.  Of course, larger donations are welcome.  The funds help pay for the festival decorations, activities, A/V, etc.

SHOULD I SEND-IN CANDY?
Yes! Students who send-in a bag of candy in the next week may dress-down for free on October 20. Please avoid candy with nuts.

CAN MY STUDENT WEAR A COSTUME?
Yes! Students may dress in costume on the day of the festival. Kids have the most fun when the costumes are simple, safe, and weather-appropriate, with minimal accessories. The school will provide bags to collect treats and prizes.

WHAT ARE THE FESTIVAL ACTIVITIES?
This year's Festival will have 3 zones: a not-so-scary haunted activity trail; a choreographed dance zone; and a trunk-or-treat. The theme of the third grade trunk-or-treat booth is The Nightmare Before Christmas.

WHAT IF I WANT A PAPER REMINDER?
A flier is going home early next week!

ONCE AGAIN, HERE ARE THE LINKS YOU NEED:

Have a great weekend!

Boo Bags are for Sale through October 31

Boo Bags are for sale!  These are cute bags filled with small trinkets that the kids enjoy. Send $2 cash to school with your student, and your student can buy a Boo Bag in the school's atrium between 8:45-9:15 a.m.  This fundraiser will run through October 31.

Updates from November 16 (Santa Shop & Volunteer Link)

Marshpoint will offer the Santa Shop again this year.  This fun event is a chance for students to shop, purchase gifts, and take home the wrapped packages to give to family members.  The shop will open the week after Thanksgiving break, and Ms. Stephens will let us know what day our kids will attend. A flier and a Santa Shop envelope went home this week.  Please send cash in the envelope with your child, and list on the envelope the people for whom your child should buy gifts and your student's estimated budget. Santa needs elves!  The North Pole cannot open without volunteers willing to staff the shop.  Parents, grandparents, or other elves will help children choose gifts within their budgets, make their payments, and wrap their gifts. Here is the link to the Sign-up Genius where you can choose a 2.5-hour shift from Nov 28 - Dec 8: https://www.signupgenius.com/ go/10C0E45A9AC22A3F9C70- 46158124-marshpoint#/
