Updates from September 21, 2023

DID YOU KNOW?

Your PTA raises money to sponsor fun events, teacher appreciation activities, and school subscriptions and supplies.  The Marshpoint Fall Festival, Starbucks treats for teachers on Fridays, and programs like Write Score are just a few examples.

JOIN PTA:  CLASSROOM COMPETITION
If just one person from every family in Ms. Stephens's class joins PTA, the class will be rewarded with a pizza party and $50 towards the class wish list!  And the prizes are even bigger if we reach this goal soon because we are in competition with the other classes!
Membership is $5 per individual or $10 per family.  You may join and pay online with a credit card through Givebacks website.
Becoming a member does not require any commitments.  Your membership is financial support.
Join the PTA today!

CHARLESTON WRAP:  This fundraiser is happening right now!  Competition sales end this Wednesday, September 27.  Packets were sent home with your student.  Check out the wrapping paper, candies, and nice gifts for yourself or others on the Charleston Wrap website.

BOOK FAIR:  This popular event takes place next week, September 25-29.  Students may pay with cash or with an eWallet.  A few volunteers are still needed to staff the sale!  Choose a volunteer shift though the Sign Up Genius link.

BINGO NIGHT & PTA MEETING:  Thursday, September 28.  To play, you must be a PTA member (join today or that night!) and the cost is $5 for your first card & $1 each additional card.  Fall Festival Planning will take place at 5:30, and bingo begins at 6.  Prize donations are welcome -- email Emily.Deloach@hotmail.com.  The Book Fair will be open that evening from 5-7.

FALL FESTIVAL:  Friday, October 27, during the school day.  Mark your calendar!  We need lots and lots of volunteers!  Cost will be $7 per student, which will include Kona Ice, and may be paid using a credit card on Givebacks.  Also, students who donate a bag of candy may dress-down for free on October 20.

SPIRIT WEAR:  The dress code-compliant Marshpoint navy fleeces are now available, plus t-shirts and sweatshirts.  Order spirit wear on Givebacks and it will be sent home with your student within a school week.

TREAT SHEETS:   This is an easy way to pay for your child's PTA Fun Friday treats (such as popsicles & popcorn) without needing to find cash!  Order a sheet of 10 coupons for $10 on Givebacks using a credit card, and the coupon sheets will be sent home in your student's folder.  Send in the prepaid coupon on treat day instead of cash!  (Not valid for dress-down days because those are unrelated to PTA.)

Boo Bags are for Sale through October 31

Boo Bags are for sale!  These are cute bags filled with small trinkets that the kids enjoy. Send $2 cash to school with your student, and your student can buy a Boo Bag in the school's atrium between 8:45-9:15 a.m.  This fundraiser will run through October 31.

Updates from November 16 (Santa Shop & Volunteer Link)

Marshpoint will offer the Santa Shop again this year.  This fun event is a chance for students to shop, purchase gifts, and take home the wrapped packages to give to family members.  The shop will open the week after Thanksgiving break, and Ms. Stephens will let us know what day our kids will attend. A flier and a Santa Shop envelope went home this week.  Please send cash in the envelope with your child, and list on the envelope the people for whom your child should buy gifts and your student's estimated budget. Santa needs elves!  The North Pole cannot open without volunteers willing to staff the shop.  Parents, grandparents, or other elves will help children choose gifts within their budgets, make their payments, and wrap their gifts. Here is the link to the Sign-up Genius where you can choose a 2.5-hour shift from Nov 28 - Dec 8: https://www.signupgenius.com/ go/10C0E45A9AC22A3F9C70- 46158124-marshpoint#/
